Meet the founder

Travel has always been an important part of my life. I have visited more than thirty countries across Europe, Asia, North and South America, and the Middle East. I have organised most of my trips independently, from choosing routes and making bookings to handling practical matters along the way.

That experience has taught me that a comfortable journey depends on many details. When I travel, I try to combine careful preparation with a willingness to adapt calmly as circumstances change.

Much of my professional life has also involved working with people, client service and quality control. I have worked in hotels and restaurants, at concert venues, and in the organisation of business meetings and conferences. My role often went beyond completing an individual task: it involved making sure that every part of the service met the agreed standards and that the client received the expected result.

This professional experience taught me to pay attention to detail, anticipate possible difficulties, honour agreements and recognise that different people may have very different expectations of the same service. For me, good service means listening carefully, understanding what someone needs and organising my work accordingly, rather than imposing my own ideas.

I trained as an economist, and much of my subsequent professional experience has involved marketing, presenting information and professional services. I currently work in the marketing department of a large international audit and consulting firm. I also help prepare major business proposals, presentations and client materials. This work requires accuracy, accountability, respect for deadlines, confidentiality and careful handling of information.

At some point, I realised that I could bring together two important parts of my life: my love of travel and many years of professional experience working with clients. That was how the idea developed to offer personal companionship to people who want to travel independently and follow their own itinerary, but who, for various reasons, do not want to set out alone.

I believe that no one should have to give up a journey they want to make simply because they have no one to travel with. At the same time, I understand that this service depends above all on personal trust. A client spends a great deal of time with me, shares plans and some personal information, and relies on me in unfamiliar surroundings. That is why it matters to me to do more than describe my experience: I want to be open, consistent and ready to answer any questions you may have.

In the initial stages, I will personally accompany every journey. This means that each of my first clients will speak and travel directly with me: the person building this service and personally responsible for the quality of my work.

I am 44 years old. I have lived in Barcelona for several years and also spend a great deal of time in Paris. I am a Ukrainian citizen with Polish family roots. Since 2019, I have lived outside Ukraine, including in Central American countries and Mexico.

My English is at C1 level, confirmed by examinations, and I use Spanish for everyday communication. I also have a basic knowledge of French and Catalan. My native language is Ukrainian. Several real-time translation tools for mobile phones and other devices have been released this year, and they already help resolve communication needs in most situations in countries whose languages I do not speak. At the same time, I recognise that technology is only a supporting tool: attentiveness, common sense and the ability to connect with people remain essential.

In everyday life, I take a fairly minimalist approach and try to be thoughtful about possessions, money and resources. For me, this means using what is genuinely useful wisely while still enjoying comfort. I treat other people’s belongings, personal information and budgets with the same care.

Alongside my formal education, I continue to learn independently. I am particularly interested in psychology, human behaviour, how the brain works, decision-making, and how people respond to change and uncertainty. This knowledge helps me understand differences between people and avoid expecting everyone to share the same personality, pace, habits or way of communicating.

For several years, I have also worked intentionally on my personal development. This has helped me understand my own reactions, listen more attentively, respect personal boundaries and stay calm in difficult or unexpected situations. When circumstances change, I assess the situation and focus on a practical solution.

It is also important to me that attentiveness does not become excessive control. I respect another person’s independence, personal space and right to travel at their own pace. I can be involved and supportive when needed, while understanding that even on a shared journey, people need time to themselves.

Let’s plan your travels together!

Ian.
